Traffic Ad Bar Users - Is your website mobile ready?
Table of Contents
ToggleWhen you sign up for the Traffic Ad Bar, your website link will be seen by many Traffic Ad Bar members as they visit other website links. However, if your website is not mobile ready, you may be losing traffic and potential sales due to the fact that your entire site is not visible without scrolling from left to right.
What I have found is that a majority of websites are not mobile – ready or ‘responsive’.
If you are like many people, you probably use your cell phone more often than your laptop computer. As you click on the links while on your phone or tablet, using the Traffic Ad Bar, there are an alarming number of websites that are not entirely seen. And if you have added a website or two or three, you want your sites to be viewed properly, on ANY mobile device, right?

What does Mobile ready mean?
When you are ready to publish your post or page, you want to make sure that your website can be is ‘mobile ready’. You website will be seen on three viewpoints:
- Desktop
- Tablet
- Cell phone
The desktop version is default when you are creating or editing your website, it’s important to do so from the largest view possible, and that is from your desktop (laptop). By doing so, you will be able to see the entire page on one screen.
From that standpoint, mobile devices are smaller and will have certain parameters, or ‘breakpoints’ for proper viewing on both the tablet and cell phone devices. According to Microsoft, the breakpoints are:
- Large (1008px and larger) – Desktop
- Medium (641px to 1007px) – Tablet
- Small (smaller than 640px) – Cell phone
Did you know…
That A TV is considered a small screen? Why? This is because the viewing range is greater (6-10 ft) than when sitting in front of your computer screen (12-20 in/cm).
Why is it important that my website is mobile ready?
Mobile devices are being used more frequently than ever before. According to Reviews.org, Americans are obsessed with using their phones. (See image below for stats).
*Hopefully, you can see the need to ensure that your website is mobile -ready.
Desktop computers were Once King of the internet
Websites were first created for use on desktop computers. This resulted in a static display that was easily viewed on any desktop computer. It wasn’t until the increased usage of cell phone and tablets that a change was a necessity to change the view to fit the smaller devices.
Due to cell phone and tablets being much smaller, the desktop view was reduced in size to fit the screen, and therefore was very hard to read when viewed on a cell phone or tablet. (Image below is a screenshot from w3schools.com).

When I first learned how to use HTML/CSS, in 2013, we started to use a meta tag that was added to the <head><meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0″> </head> section.
This code was pasted onto every website page so the browsers would control the sizing and scaling. Then the website content could be properly viewed. The image above shows what the website page looked like on a cell phone with and without the ‘meta tag’.
When on our mobile devices, we scroll vertically. If the website is not mobile- responsive, you have to scroll horizontally to view the entire screen.
Today, it’s possible that not being able to see the entire screen on a mobile device could result in reduced traffic to your site, which in turn could result in loss of potential sales.
How does this pertain to my website on Traffic Ad Bar?
The cell phone is a one-column view of a full desktop view website, and the information may be lost if not readily available or visible from the mobile device view.
If you can’t see it, it didn’t exist. Right?
Well. not really, but you get the point. If you can’t see the full website on a mobile device, you may have to scroll sideways to see the entire site. And we know that 10 seconds is not very long to scan a website before we click to see the next website. If your cannot see the entire site on a mobile view, then you are losing out on any potential interest in what you have to offer.
The goal within Traffic Ad Bar is raise to a higher ranking level. You do this by seeing as many websites as you can within whatever allotted time you give yourself.
How do I make my website mobile ready?
Fortunately, we no longer need to know how to code in order to create a mobile ready website. Of course, if you know how to code, carry on, it is a noble profession. The reason we don’t have to learn how to code is due to formats, like WordPress, where all we need to do is use a theme, add content, add a few plugins, and voila, a website is created.
And with many of those themes, like GeneratePress, the theme is created to be mobile -responsive. You can customize your theme to account for both tablet and mobile phone views, simply by clicking on the icon. The edit page shows you the appropriate view and you can edit accordingly.
If you want some help with making sure your site can be viewed on mobile devices, try it out from your own cell phone or tablet. If you like what you see, then your site is already mobile-ready. If you cannot see your entire website without scrolling sideways, I can help you with that.
